About dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are a non-invasive treatment, which is used to create definition and add volume to the skin; they can also be used to boost the volume of the lips.
The procedure for filler treatment is simple and safe; a fine needle is used to inject the filler into the skin. Before treatment, we discuss the procedure with you and identify the areas you want to address and the problems you want to correct. The needle is then injected into the areas of the skin. Treatment usually takes around 20 minutes and the results are visible within 2 days.
Dermal fillers are not a permanent treatment; the results of treatment tend to last up to 9 months and then you have the choice of arranging further treatment sessions.
Wrinkles are inevitable, but if you’re looking to reduce the visibility of your lines or keep wrinkles at bay for a little longer, we can help. We use wrinkle reduction treatment to smooth the complexion and give your skin a healthy and bright aesthetic.
The effects of wrinkle reduction treatment last around 4 months, but it is very easy to top-up the treatment to prolong the results if you are happy with your new, youthful look near Braunstone
Gum contouring is a procedure, which is used to reduce the amount of gum tissue that is visible when you smile. This treatment is commonly used to treat patients who have a gummy smile.
What is a gummy smile?
A gummy smile is not a medical problem and it does not cause any pain or swelling; however, it can affect people’s confidence because it affects the aesthetic of the smile. If you have a gummy smile, this mean that the gums cover the top or bottom of the teeth, which makes the teeth look smaller and shorter. By removing some of the gum tissue, the teeth look longer and bigger and the balance of the smile is improved.
Gum contouring is a cosmetic procedure because it does not benefit oral health and it enhances the look of the smile, but it also has benefits for confidence and wellbeing.
Gum contouring may sound like a fairly terrifying prospect, but it is actually much simpler than it sounds and the gums are numbed in advance to prevent any pain.
Before treatment your dentist will discuss the procedure with you and decide how much of the gum tissue they are going to trim away. Once the effects of the anaesthetic have come into play, your dentist will start to trim away very tiny pieces of the gum to uncover more of the tooth crown. The shape of the gums is then altered using cutting-edge laser treatment to complete the new look.
After treatment it is normal for the gums to feel slightly sore and inflamed; however, this should subside quickly and we can offer you pain relief to reduce your discomfort. We advise rinsing with salt water for the first couple of days after treatment. For more information about gum contouring contact the team near Stoneygate.
We are proud to offer a range of high quality restorative treatments, including fillings, inlays and onlays. Restorations help to strengthen and restore the teeth and to prevent damage to the teeth.
White fillings at Aesthetic Smiles
White fillings are a very popular treatment and we are pleased to offer new fillings and replacement fillings for mercury amalgam fillings. White filings are made from composite materials and they match the colour of the natural teeth so that you cannot see the filling when you smile. Composite fillings are preferable to metal amalgam fillings because they are safer and they also produce more natural and discreet aesthetics.
It is very common to need a filling; fillings are used to fill cavities, which are holes in the tooth. Fillings help to prevent the spread of infection through the tooth and increase the strength of the tooth to reduce the risk of damage in the future. The filing procedure is fairly simple and quick; normally, it is complete within an hour and the tooth is numbed to prevent any pain.
Inlays and onlays
Inlays and onlays are restorations, which may be recommended when a tooth needs more intensive treatment than a filling; they are often considered the middle ground between fillings and crowns. Composite fillings can be used to create inlays to fill inner cavities where the dentin has become exposed, and onlays to fill worn cusps of the tooth; this is most common on the molar teeth.
We also offer porcelain crowns, which are placed over the top of the natural tooth to create a stronger, more robust tooth. Crowns are generally recommended when the tooth is decayed or damaged as a result of injury and following root canal treatment; they also often used as part of dental implant treatment near Beaumont Leys
Dental crowns and bridges are restorative treatments, which are used to bolster broken or decayed teeth or to replace missing teeth. We recommend replacing lost teeth because spaces contribute to an increased risk of oral disease, as well as impacting on the aesthetic of the smile and your ability to chew your food properly.
Dental crowns can be used to strengthen a decayed or damaged or replace a missing tooth in cases where a patient chooses to have a dental implant to replace a single lost tooth. Crowns are often recommended when there is a large cavity, the patient has already had a large filling or they have undergone root canal treatment. Crowns are a means of making the tooth stronger and helping to protect against further injury or infection.
Crowns are sometimes known as caps because they are placed over the top of the existing tooth structure; before the crown is fitted, the tooth is cleaned and decayed tissue is removed; an impression of the tooth is created and the new crow is fabricated based on this mould. We use high grade materials, including porcelain, glass and zirconium, to produce natural-looking, durable and strong restorations.
Dental bridges are a popular treatment for missing teeth; they are used t literally bridge a gap and should last for up to 15 years. Dental bridges, like crowns, can be made from many different materials, but porcelain and ceramic bridges are most popular because they mimic natural tooth colour.
Bridges help to restore the function of the mouth, as well as making the smile look healthier and more attractive; they are more affordable than dental implants and treatment time is much shorter. Why not arrange a consultation for your tooth restoration needs near Glenfield.

What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a popular, non-invasive facial treatment, which have a range of benefits for the aesthetic of the skin. Fillers are designed to smooth the skin, reducing the visibility of lines and wrinkles and giving skin a gorgeous healthy glow, but they also add volume to the cheeks to create more definition. Fillers can also be used to add more plumpness to the lips.
As we age, the skin loses elasticity and often, this results in the formation of fine lines; as the collagen deposits diminish, the skin can also start to look dull and sunken. Fillers are a non-surgical means of boosting volume in the skin and making you look younger and more vivacious.
Our most popular treatments include Juvederm and Teosyal, both of which are non-invasive, temporary treatments.
The procedure is very simple and quick and typically treatment takes less than 30 minutes; a fine needle is used to inject the filler and we will target the areas you feel are problematic; most people choose to add volume to their cheeks and to reduce lines and wrinkles around the nose, eyes and mouth.
How long do the effects of treatment last?
Typically, the results of dermal filler treatment last up to 10 months; after this period of time, you can decide whether or not to top-up your treatment by arranging another session.
